APTUK response to the HEIW Strategic Pharmacy Workforce Plan (HEIW SPWP)

APTUK welcome the release of the HEIW SPWP on the 30^th June 2023 which explicitly recognises the value of current and future roles for Pharmacy Technicians and a vision for future growth and development of the profession.

This is essential for upskilling in preparedness for proposed legislative changes, which would impact on patient access to more clinical services.

The professional recognition of Pharmacy Technicians as integral to workforce planning is also welcome, and we look forward to working collaboratively with HEIW on the delivery of this.
